Ancient Warburton. "The
King's Grave"
The research that archaeologist James Balme has been carrying out in Warburton over the last three years and his discovery of the ancient settlement which had been lost in the mists of time until recently is to be made into an archaeological documentary television series.
Filming is already underway for the series and the cameras have been following James as he carries out his work at the ancient settlement in his search for the evidence and artefacts left behind by the ancient ancestors of Warburton. The cameras have also been closely following his consultations and meetings with Manchester University Archaeological Unit and South Trafford Archaeological Group as he prepares for the forthcoming major excavations of the settlement.
The excavations will be carried out as a joint venture commencing in October 2001. The series will follow the actual excavations as they happen and the cameras will record the evidence left behind by our ancient ancestors as it is uncovered.
Paul Walker Productions have secured the services of a well known and respected freelance producer who is currently working on several major television documentaries for British television to be screened later this year . The Warburton documentary series is to be presented by a well known television personality who has been working on national and regional programmes for many years in Britain and who has a keen interest in the work being carried out by James.
They will be working together throughout the series as the excavations take place. If you would like to contact James with regards to his work to date you can use the contact section on the home page of this web site.
